Education is the key

I came across an article which was published a year ago on News24 and I can truly say that I felt the passion in the words of the writer concerning the topic of education as a key to improve not only the lives of South Africans but our country as a whole – http://www.news24.com/MyNews24/South-Africans-education-is-key-20150529 [South Africans, education is key]. The article starts off introducing a Professor of Economics at Harvard University: Roland Fryer. What makes this interesting is that Roland Fryer is only 30 years of age.
Further in the article, Phumlani M. UMajozi speaks about how we need to motivate and reward the youth more to embrace education. Phumlani M. UMajozi also makes use of examples of countries such as India and Pakistan where families are earning extremely low incomes but still ensures that their children receives decent education. Another important objective brought up in the article was that slaves were prevented from having an education. This was simply due to the fact that education was empowering. The article itself makes many important objectives and I, personally believe that every learner and parent should read it. I, whole heartedly agree that education is a ticket out of poverty and a ticket to a better society. It should be the vision of every teacher to reiterate the importance of education to all those who are willing to listen and I intend to add it to my vision as a teacher as well to see a society which is uplifted with education.
